3 Day Mount Meru Trek
This 3-day trek takes you to the summit of Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest peak located Arusha National Park. The climb offers scenery, rich wildlife, and excellent acclimatization for Mount Kilimanjaro.
Trekkers will pass through lush rainforest, encounter wildlife such as giraffes and buffalo, and enjoy dramatic views of the Meru Crater and ash cone before reaching the summit at Socialist Peak (4,566 m).

Itinerary
Drive from Arusha to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. After registration, begin your trek through lush rainforest accompanied by an armed ranger.
Along the way, you may spot giraffes, buffalo, monkeys, and various bird species. Continue hiking to Miriakamba Hut.
Hiking Time: 4–6 hours
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Miriakamba Hut
After breakfast, continue trekking through moorland and montane forest. Enjoy views of the Meru Crater and ash cone as you ascend.
Arrive at Saddle Hut for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, you may take an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820 m).

Accommodation: Saddle Hut
Your summit attempt begins around midnight from Saddle Hut on Mount Meru. Trek along a narrow ridge to reach Socialist Peak (4,566 m) at sunrise.
Enjoy breathtaking views and, on clear days, see Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
Descend back to Saddle Hut for brunch, then continue down through forest to Momella Gate. Transfer back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.
